Infrastructure Support Analyst

On behalf of our Client we are seeking an Infrastructure Support Analyst. This is a permanent, full time role within the IT & Infrastructure Department.

The ideal candidate will be an articulate, business facing infrastructure support analyst, able to problem solve whilst under pressure, and bring with them a genuine interest in technology. 


The main responsibilities will be:

  •  Providing 1st line support for  the infrastructure platforms across desktop workstations, VDI, telephony, audio visual equipment and server hardware, both locally and to branch offices.
  • Driving issues through to resolution where possible, handing off to relevant 2nd and 3rd line staff when required.
  • Monitoring of global systems, network links, virtualized platforms and application health through shared dashboards, resolving operational issues where possible, or escalating to senior staff where appropriate.
  • Ensuring data backups and DR arrangements are running, and up to date, in accordance with corporate data protection and retention policies.
  •  Liaising with external service providers in the provision of equipment and application support as needed.
  • Managing User accounts and security group management for new joiners, movers and leavers.
  • Creation and deployment of Windows application packages through appropriate packaging tools and Microsoft SCCM.
  • Providing out-of-hours emergency support on a rota basis in response to critical infrastructure issues and urgent user requests.
  • Performing user training and IT system inductions.
  • Providing support to the Application Development teams on infrastructure issues affecting either vendor provided and proprietary software.
  • Assisting in strategic infrastructure project initiatives, supporting deployments from the front line through handover from project teams, where needed.
  • Managing, maintaining and supporting mechanical and engineering equipment through appropriate support & maintenance vendors (including structured cabling within the office environment, air conditioning maintenance and UPS servicing).

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least three years experience within IT Administration. 
  • A college degree in a suitable scientific field (example: Computer Science, Maths, Physics etc.) is preferred.
  • Must be highly experienced with Office Suite Applications, Mobile Device management / Corporate management and deployment of iPhone, Android handsets & tablet devices, Virtualization and VDI/ESXi, vSphere, and Horizon View, Active Directory/AD, DHCP, DNS, NPS, Group Policy (AGPM) within a Microsoft environment and Software Management/SCCM .
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 & Windows 10. Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 & 2016, Python, PowerShell, Operational monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, WhatsUp, Nagios, Lync Server 2013, Skype for Business 2015 and Microsoft Teams, AirWatch and Backup Exec 2010, VEEAM,  are all desirable.
